Balmoral School Art Exhibiton 2011
Room 23 studied Bill Hammond's work and created their own version. Didn't they do an amazing job!! Here are some of the children involved who happened to be around for a spontaneous photo early before school. Thanks to Carissa for the great shots.

HOW BORING
A reading response to HOW BORING by JILL EGGLETON by Room 23. We all thought that this was such a funny story. The pets in this house did funny things when their owners wouldn't get out of bed. We used art rage to paint these pictures.
In room 23 we read a book called "Lion Talk", we wrote about lions too. Here are the lions that we drew using the artrage programme. We had to draw the mane, face, ears, eyes and whiskers all on seperate layers, using the layers palette, so that we didn't mix the colour together. You can see that we looked very closely at how lions look.

Being creative at developmental Play
Creativity is one of our Balmoral habits of mind. We saw lots of children displaying the learning disposition of creativity with the large blocks, dinosaurs and some freshly cut branches. Don our groundsman happened to be walking past with a large bin of foliage perfect for a dinosaur environment. The children's play was extended in a different way with the surprise addition. The play with animals and blocks allows the children to develop their working theories of how the world works.

Junior trip to the Visy recycle centre
We saw a glass mountain. We saw trucks dumping rubbish. We saw rubbish getting sorted into plastic, paper, glass and general waste. We learnt a new word, "bale". Can you find the bale of cans in amongst the pictures?

We painted, cut and stuck flowers on the front of the card. We wrote kind messages inside our cards. We hope the MUMS in Room 23 enjoyed their cards. Sorry the photo is on its side!!!!
