Being creative at developmental Play

Creativity is one of our Balmoral habits of mind. We saw lots of children displaying the learning disposition of creativity with the large blocks, dinosaurs and some freshly cut branches. Don our groundsman happened to  be walking past with a large bin of foliage perfect for a dinosaur environment. The children's play was extended in a different way with the surprise addition. The play with animals and blocks allows the children to develop their working theories of how the world works.

Junior trip to the Visy recycle centre

We saw a glass mountain. We saw trucks dumping rubbish. We saw rubbish getting sorted into plastic, paper, glass and general waste. We learnt a new word, "bale". Can you find the bale of cans in amongst the pictures?

Room 23 made mother's day cards

We painted, cut and stuck flowers on the front of the card. We wrote kind messages inside our cards. We hope the MUMS  in Room 23 enjoyed their cards. Sorry the photo is on its side!!!!

Room 23 Portraits using ART RAGE in computer lab time.
We used ART RAGE to paint our portraits. Exploring portraits is part of our learning about identity and place. ART AGE is a digital art programme. We learnt how to use different tools and practice mouse control. We learnt how to use the tracing option and to use two layers, so that our background did not mix into our sketch.
